Hey, B & R Driveways of Montgomery!

This is Eric with Steady Calls.

I wanted to shoot this quick video to make sure that you're maximizing your Google My Business Listing opportunity.

We're first going to take a look at how your business shows up in a normal Google listing. We'll take a look at how that same search result changes, depending on where you are around town. Then, we'll see how the top competition is doing around Montgomery.

This is a pretty standard Google search. I'm sure you've seen it before "Concrete Services Near Montgomery Alabama." I have this city-state because I'm actually out of state in Iowa. I need this to trigger the this location specific Google search, but you shouldn't need that. You can do "Concrete Services Near Me."

If you do see any ads, they'll be above this map. In this location, these ads get about 5 to 15% of the traffic that's coming to the page. Below the ads is the map pack, this gets about 60 to 70% of the traffic and 20 to 30% or whatever's left goes to these organic search results.

But I wanna focus mostly on the map pack because it gets that big chunk of the traffic. And when I say, talk about web traffic, you can kind of think of it just like foot traffic. It really boils down to getting eyeballs on your phone number so that the people who are looking for that service are going to pick up the phone and call.

And you can kind of see by taking a look at this map pack that. There's a reason why I get 70% of those calls and that's because Google's really making it easy. They've got the phone number right there. These are the top Google My Business Listing number 1, 2, and 3. And they've also got some other relevant information like where when you're open and there's also reviews.

So that if you were to have to make a choice between 1 or 2, maybe having more better reviews. Puts them over the top, and the first phone call goes to these guys, and then number 1, then number 1. So, this map pack or the top three Google My Business Listing is kind of the tip of the iceberg, it's what everyone sees

But if you're really looking for that full list, you can click "View All" and get number 4 through 10. And then, on to even more on the second, third, and this has seven pages. But the majority of the calls go to these top three because of a concept called being above the fold. These three phone numbers are viewable to anyone who's scrolling past.

But the everything else is hidden behind a second layer and this kind of represents a choice, if you think of the concept of being above the fold comes from opening a lot of snail mail or back and forth. When letters were the primary form of correspondence, you'd have a specific amount of text that you could read before you can make that decision to open up the envelope and unfold the entire letter.

In this case, these people who are looking for concrete contractors have a specific amount of information to read before they have to decide whether or not they have what it. They have what they need and whether or not they have to look below the fold. To all of these companies, so you're really in this second tier if you aren't in the map pack.

This is a tool called a Heat Map, not sure if you've seen this before. We use it in our industry to get a big picture view of how you're doing in a general surrounding area. To explain this further, I'm going to zoom in and you can see that one of these circles is closely tied to a geographical location.

For instance, this Auburn University location, you can imagine that there are people living here or doing internet searches in this location. And let's say, Sally is looking for concrete services at Auburn University and she searches that same Google search that we did, it could be word for word and Google is going to give her a list of phone numbers to call for concrete services.

And on that list, that GMB listing be in our driveways is number three on that list. On the other hand, if we zoom across town, we have a different location, maybe the Air Force Base. And at this specific location, you could do the exact same result and instead of the list that Sally saw, you're going to get a new list.

And on that list, B & R Driveways is number 20, so you can see that there's a big difference. You really have to trigger that specific location filter that Google puts on is Google searches. And a lot of people don't realize that these search results can vary. That greatly from number 3 to number 20 in only a couple miles that's within 8 to 10 miles.

When you're armed with this information, you can kind of get a bigger picture view of what's really going on. If you did a Google search where you're kind of strong in the map pack, it's a little tougher to realize that you're missing out on a lot of these eyeballs on your phone number, which of course translates into more calls, more bids you can put out.

And ultimately, more jobs you can close and that ability to grow your business and support your family. Next, I want to take a look at another Heat Map. That is in the exact same area, so these grid points match up with what we were just looking at for B & R. And in this map, you can see that there's a lot more green going on.

We've got 1, 2, and 3. Almost half the map is in the top, the top tier slots above that, above the fold. And even these weaker circles are still doing well just below the fold, they wouldn't take, you know? We could keep pushing these and try to nudge these 4 into 3 as we go and you might be wondering where Steady Calls fits in.

We're a company that services your Google My Business Listing to remind Google who the concrete kings are in a specific area. You can think of Google as a forgetful spouse that needs consistent reminders in order to remember the what's most important. I know I'm not the biggest fan of various social events when we were doing those.

I need a lot of sticky notes or text messages leading up to in the weeks before in order to RSVP and really make plans and settle on different activities. Then, Google's the same way. What we do at Steady Calls is we go into these locations on the internet and just post sticky notes around and really push nudge.

Google, remind them of who the concrete kings are in this area and that's how we can kind of push these companies up the rankings. And ultimately, get all those eyeballs on your phone number and more opportunity to grow. I really appreciate your time. Please take a look at the Heat Map that is linked below this video.

If you don't see your business up here, you can take a look at this search bar, and do a bit of searching, and find it, or scroll, and kind of see how all these other companies that are ranking in the area are doing, and get the big picture view of where they're at. Thanks so much and I'll talk to you later!
