In this short-n-sweet video, you'll learn the level of your Google My Business game faster than you could smooth a driveway with a power screed.
We're as easy to work with as 6in slump. Schedule a call at a time when you're not pouring.
This is Eric with Steady Calls.
I wanted to shoot this quick video to make sure that you're maximizing your Google My Business opportunity.
First, we're going to take a look at how your business shows up in a standard Google search. Then, we'll change that to how your business search results change, depending on where you are around town.
And then, we'll see how your top competition is showing up around Montgomery to a normal Google search. I'm sure you've seen this before. This is for concrete services near Montgomery Alabama. I added the city or state because I'm out of state, but you don't need this in order to get those same results.
If there are any ads, they'll be above this map visual here. In this area, they get about 5 to 15% of the traffic. You can think of traffic just like foot traffic. Web traffic really boils down to getting eyeballs on your phone number. Because having those potential customers give you a call.
Means that you can send out a bid which is necessary in order to get those jobs. Ads can get about 5 to 15% of those eyeballs on your phone number. And then, when it comes to the next section, these guys get about 60 to 70% of the traffic. The organic search results below this section, get the rest 20 to 30%.
This is what's called a Map Pack and this is the top 1, 2, and 3 Google My Business Listing. You can see how one of the reasons that they get the majority of the calls. Because Google makes it very easy for potential customers to find those phone numbers and also have a great comparison.
So that it's a little easier to decide to get give a call when you can see, okay! 5 reviews, 5 star reviews versus 4.7, kind of gives a metric that helps people make that decision. These are only the tip of the iceberg, though. If people want the full list, they can hit "View All" and see number four and so on.
The full list of Google My Business Listing and even multiple pages. But a lot of people don't get this far because Google makes it very easy to just call directly from here. This is a concept that's called being above the fold, just like when you get a lot of letters. Most of my mailbox is spam these days.
But a physical letter, there's a specific fold so there's a limited amount of text that you can read above the fold. You need to make that decision whether you're going to open up the envelope, unfold it, and read the full letter. Because there's a decision between number 3 and number 4, these top 1, 2, and 3 Google My Business Listing really get the lion's share of that traffic.
That's a normal Google search. Next, we're going to take a look at what's called a Heat Map. Now, I'm not sure if you've seen anything like this before. I just got to meet the gentleman who developed this over the last two years and it just rolled out a few months ago.
This takes that simple Google search that we were taking a look at and breaks it out by location. So for instance, if we zoom in near Turnback Creek here, this is a specific location around Montgomery, Alabama. And if you were in this region doing that same Google search that we just took a look at "Concrete Services Near Me."
What this number six is telling you is that on that list, that Google gives you of GMB's ConCreations is number six on that list in this specific region. To explain that a little further, let's zoom all the way across town to a different region. You can see how this is going to have different residents, different geographical landmarks.
And if you were say at a Sheman Transportation Group doing that same Google search, you would get a different list of numbers. On this list, ConCretions is number one. A lot of people don't realize that just doing one Google search doesn't give you the full picture of how you're doing around the an entire city or an entire service area.
This is a great way to see immediately how you're doing. Next, I'd like to take a look at some of the ways. This tool can be used to take a look at your competition. We kind of talked about how being in that map pack really puts you ahead, just because you get more eyeballs on your number nearly.
Automatically, there's a big difference between being number three and being number four. What we can do here is just click on a specific location and you can see that list of GMB's or list of companies with phone numbers. This is pulling the exact same data that we were looking at for a single Google search
Except in this particular location and here you can see number four. The big difference between number four and number three and this would be what number three's map looks like. You can kind of see it's a little bit of a flip where naturally if you haven't been pushing.
This Google is kind of making a differentiation between who is the strongest concrete contractor in this area and that's how they're making their lists. How does Steady Calls fit in? What we do is we service your Google My Business Listing to remind Google who the concrete kings in specific regions are.
That's how we can kind of push and flip these fours to number threes. You can think of Google as a forgetful spouse. In order to stay on top of their mind, you kind of need to send those sticky notes or texts to remind you, so I know I have. I'm not a big fan of a lot of social events.
I need those kind of consistent reminders to remind me of what's actually important and make sure that I am on track to kind of meeting, those commitments. That's what we at Steady Calls do with Google. We kind of go into each of these locations and post sticky notes.
Sending messages letting them know that ConCretions is the king of concrete in the Montgomery, Alabama area. I really appreciate the time watching this video. Please take a look at the attached Heat Map and kind of play around with it with some of those features.
One note, if you don't see your own company this would be the way to search for a specific company in this region. And then, by clicking on it, you can kind of flip the map and see what gets that big picture view of where everyone is at and where they're going. As well, you can also schedule a call with myself or someone from my team by clicking on that calendar link and picking a time that works. I appreciate all the commitment here and I'll talk to you later. Thanks!
