Hey, Concrete By Design LLC!

This is Eric with Steady Calls.

I want to shoot this quick video to make sure that you're maximizing your Google My Business search results. In order to show you some information, I'm going to go to Google to do a standard search and talk a couple statistics about that.

Then, we'll take a look at how those search results change, depending on where you are around town. And then, how that compares with your top competition. This is a pretty standard Google search. I'm sure you've seen this are very similar if there are any ads, paid ads, they'll show up here and get tagged with that ad.

These get about 5 to 15% of the traffic that go to Google and search for this page. You can think of traffic, just like foot traffic. It boils down to getting eyes on your phone number. 60 to 70% of the traffic go to this section. This is called the map pack and it gives the top Google My Business Listings.

Below the map pack are organically ranked websites. But I want to go back up to these top GMB's for the majority of the video, these get about 60 to 70%. These are 20 to 30% and then ads are 15. And that can all vary depending on the specifics. But the big reason that these get the majority of the calls is because that's what Google is making it very easy for them to get that, to get that traffic.

Because the phone number is right here, just like for foot traffic. You want that phone number on a truck, on a storefront having that number out there. Even if they're scrolling past and they are initially heading toward for these organic results, they're going to see that number. And if you're providing a service that they need, then they're going to pick up the phone, and call.

Or, if they're scrolling on a mobile device, here's often a button where you can link up directly to these concrete contractors if you do need. If you don't see the information that you need here, you can expand. But a lot of people don't even get to this second page because Google's really makes it very easy to call these number 1, 2, and 3 companies.

This phenomena is something I call being above the fold. If you think back to opening a lot of letters, there's a specific amount of text that you read at each envelope or letter. That is the amount of text that you have to make a decision whether or not to open that envelope, unfold it, and read the full text.

Similarly, people who are looking for phone numbers here, they have a taste. And if this is enough for them, they're not even going to essentially open up that full letter and read everything that's below the fold. So that's a little bit how GMB's work on a simple Google search. What I've got here is what's called a Heat Map and this is where things really get interesting.

I just got access to this fall. I met with the gentleman who's been developing this over the last two years. And this pulls the exact same data of Google My Business Listings that we were just looking at, but it tags it for a specific location. So, if we zoom in, you can see that this circle is near Woodley East Estates, Woodland Hills.

This is a specific geographical location. And, what this number means is that if you were to be on Woodley Road, doing a Google search, the exact same Google search that we just took a look at on that list of GMB's, Concrete By Design LLC is number one on that list. That of course, means that you're in the map pack.

You're above the fold and anyone who's scrolling past has the opportunity to see your number and hit the button and call. And of course, the more calls that you can get, the more bids you can send out. And ultimately, the more jobs you close, which translates into more revenue allows you to grow your business and also support your employees and support your family.

So that's a very positive result. On the other hand, if we zoom over to a different location, you can see that Beck's Automotive. This is a different geographical location if someone's at this location doing that same Google search. A lot of people don't realize that list of numbers changes. And on this list, Concrete By Design is number 13.

And if we think back to what we were looking at earlier, being 13 means that you're under the fold. You are kind of buried and you're really relying on all the companies ahead of you to not being be able to provide that service before you get the phone call. So, where you're ranked on these GMB's can make a big difference in how you're doing.

And, this Heat Map is a great way to see how you're doing throughout an entire geographical region in this case Montgomery Alabama. Next, I'd like to show you an example Heat Map here of a different company and these guys are a lot are very dominant, especially, on this lower kind of Southeast side of the grid.

And a big reason you can tell that is, of course, the color coding. More green is better. You can also take a look at the numbers and see 1, 2, and 3 across the board, even these 4's, you know? That's the next number down immediately below the fold. To really even improve upon this, we'd, of course, want to be pushing these 4's.

When you're ranked at number 4, you want to get into that map pack and the 4 to 3 is the biggest jump. That going up the list can make a big difference in the amount of calls, and of course, the revenue you're generating from these searches. You might be wondering how Steady fits in. We service your Google My Business Listing to remind Google who the concrete kings are in a specific region.

You can think of Google as a forgetful spouse that needs consistent reminders. I'm not the biggest fan of different social events even when we were doing those before the pandemic. And, I would always need whether it's a sticky note or a text, just some consistent reminders multiple times before I take action and Google's the same way.

If you're not continually reminding them what we do is, essentially, leave those sticky notes and calls in, these areas to remind them who deserves these top spots. So, really appreciate the time. Please take a look at your Heat Map that's linked below this video.

If you don't see your business, this would be the search box where you can search for it or scroll through. Also, check out other companies and how they're doing in the same service area. You can also click the link to schedule a call with myself or my team. And, thanks so much for your time! This is Eric with Steady Calls.
