This is Eric with Steady Calls.

I wanted to shoot this quick video to make sure that you're maximizing your opportunities on Google My Business.

First, I'm going to talk about how your business shows up in a normal Google listing.

Then, we'll take a look at how your business search results change as you go, as you search in different locations around town.

And then, we'll take a look at how your top competition is showing up around Montgomery.

So, to start, what I've done here is just typed in "Concrete Services Near Montgomery Alabama." This is a locational tag for me because I'm in Iowa. But if you omit this and just type in "Concrete Services Near Me," you should be looking at the exact same screen. A couple things to bring to your attention:

First of, if there are any ads, they'll be above this map pack and those ads get about 5 to 15% of the traffic. And when I'm talking about traffic on a Google search, you can think of it as eyeballs on your phone number. Just like foot traffic, whether it's passing your store or seeing your phone number on the side of a truck, that's out on a job.

That foot traffic is what results in that awareness where people know who to call when they need concrete services completed. So that's 5 to about 15% of the traffic goes to ads. Next, we have what's called the map pack, this gets about 60 to 70% of the traffic. And then, below here are organic listings different websites and such that would kind of get the rest of the kind of 20 to 30% of traffic moving back to the map pack.

I want to draw your attention to these top three Google My Business Listings. These are shown to everybody who's doing this search because they're above the fold. And when I talk about being above the fold, you can think of it as, you know? I get a lot of spam mail and when I'm reading an envelope, I'm kind of skimming the text that I can see.

And then, I'm making a decision to act. And in my case, it's deciding whether to open up the envelope and unfold the piece of paper. But when we talk about being above the fold in this situation, the action that deciding to do is to click this "View All" button, which would give you the full list of Google My Business listings below the fold.

And all these listings have phone numbers attached, but only the top three that are above the fold get seen shown to everyone. So, they get the majority of the traffic who are calling that number. You can even keep going here onto page 2, page 3, and so on. But the further down on this list, you are the harder it is to get people to see get those eyeballs on your number.

So that's a normal Google search. What I want to take a look at now is what's called a Heat Map. This is a tool that we use to give a big picture view of how you're doing all throughout town. So, a little bit about how a Heat Map works. You can think of it as a location specific grid of people who live in this area doing the exact same Google search that we just took a look at.

So, if someone, let's say was on Martin Luther King Drive, a residence here that needs a patio done or concrete services, they might go to Google type in that exact same search that we just did. And on that list of numbers, 1, 2, and 3, and then below the fold, and so on, Cemex is number 19 on that list of numbers.

On the other hand, if we kind of go more smack dive in the center with this green dot, this would be representing a different location of Montgomery and maybe Hodges Warehouse needs to get a pour done to maintain foundation and they're looking for concrete services. They might take that exact same Google search word for word, get a list of phone numbers.

And on that list of phone numbers, Cemex is number one on that list. So, you can kind of see how this gives you a picture of where you're ranking on that list of numbers. And of course, being 1, 2, or 3 is really that sweet spot where everyone who's scrolling past sees your number because you're above the fold.

So, this is a look at how you are doing currently around town. Next, I want to take a look at another Heat Map and this would be an example, just to show you where you could grow. Eventually, this is a different company that is in a similar situation. These are the exact same locational grid, but you can see that there's a lot more green number 1, 2's, and 3's going on here.

If you think back to that how the map pack gets about 60 to 70% of the attention from people who are looking for concrete services, being above the fold in 1, 2, and 3 can really give you a big advantage in terms of getting a lot more of those potential phone calls, which results in sending more bids out for jobs. And you get to close more jobs, which, of course, grows your business and increases your bottom line.

Allows you to support your employees and your family. You might be wondering how Steady Calls fits in. At Steady Calls, we remind Google who the concrete kings are. You can think of it Google as a forgetful spouse that needs constant reminders. Texts sticky notes to make sure that what's important stays on the top of their mind and that's what we do.

So, I really appreciate the time and taking a look at what we've got to show here. If you want to get to this Heat Map yourself, there should be a link below this video. And if you don't see your company here, you can kind of go here and type it in the search box in the corner and that'll flip specifically to your company. And,  there's also a link to schedule a call with me or my team. I appreciate the time and have a great day!
