Hi Concrete Raising & Waterproofing Inc.,
In this short-n-sweet video, you'll learn the level of your Google My Business game faster than you could smooth a driveway with a power screed.

We're as easy to work with as 6in slump. Schedule a call at a time when you're not pouring.

This is Eric with Steady Calls.

I wanted to shoot this quick video to make sure that you're maximizing your search results on Google My Business.

First, we're going to take a look at a standard Google search and how the GMB's show up.

Then, we'll see how your search results can change, depending on where you are around town.

And then, we'll take a look at how the top competition is showing up around Naperville.

To get started, I've gone to Google and typed in "Concrete Services Near Naperville, Illinois." If you do see any ads, they're going to be above this map. In this section, these ads get about 5 to 15% of the traffic coming to this page. This next section is what's called a Map Pack.

This is where the Google My Business Listings are and they get about 60 to 70% of that traffic. And below the map pack, we've got organic search results. This is what people normally think of as a Google search and they get about 20 to 30% or whatever's left.

When I talk about web traffic I'm really just like foot traffic. It kind of boils down to getting eyes on your phone number if you think of someone walking past your sign or walking past a truck out on a job. You really want people who are looking for concrete services to pick up the phone and call you.

So that you can get out more bids, which results in more jobs and the ability to grow your business and support your employees. With that in mind, you can really see why these GMB's are getting the majority of that traffic. Because Google's making it easy the phone number is right up front.

There's also a couple other metrics like reviews that help people hit that button, make the call, and connect with you as the concrete contractor. You'll notice that there's three GMB's listed, these would be number 1, 2, and 3 on a larger list. To get to number four, you have to hit this "View All" and scroll down.

A lot of people don't make it this far because of a concept called being above the fold. If you think back to having a bunch of letters to read when that was a more common correspondence. Most of what I get now is spam. But I have a limited amount of text to read on an envelope or in the initial part of a letter before I have to decide whether or not I'm going to unfold the entire thing.

In the same way, these top GMB's are above the fold. There's a limited amount of information and a lot of people take that information, make the call, and they don't bother to unfold the entire list. If you're stuck at number 4 or 5, you're missing out on a lot of that traffic.

And of course, the further down you go, the harder it is to get those phone calls, especially, if you're on page 2. So that's a little bit about how these GMB's are showing up in a normal Google search. Next, I want to show you a tool that's called a Heat Map. And this is pulling the same data that we were taking a look at earlier, but it's overlaying it across different locations around town.

To explain this, I'm going to zoom in and you can see that this dot is connected to a specific geographical location. You can imagine that if you were in this Park. The way to think about this is that if you are in that Park, doing a Google search just like what we looked at. Google is going to locationally tag you as someone in this area and they're going to give you a special list of GMB's.

And on that list, this business Bud's Concrete is number one on that list. On the other hand, if we go across town to a different circle, we get a different geographical location. Maybe you're in Washington Park this time doing. You could do that exact same Google search could be word for word.

And on that list of phone numbers, list of GMB's Google is going to say that Bud's Concrete is number eight on that list. And now that you know that information, you can kind of zoom out and say "Okay! Being number one can make a big difference between!" Being number eight in terms of getting that phone call, a lot of people don't realize that you're listing.

What can affect your business can vary by even a couple miles. This is within 10 miles, 8 to 10. And if you don't realize, this you might get caught up in an area where your number one, if this is where you're doing all your searching. You are going to be unaware that you're missing out on the opportunity to get all of these business owners, residences who are looking for that top concrete contractor.

You're not really showing up as that to them, so this is where you're at currently. Next, we're gonna, we're gonna take a look at your specific Heat Map and just see how you're doing in this same area. So, what I've got here is Concrete Raising and Waterproofing Inc. Google My Business Listing Heat Map and what we can kind of take a look at is well.

First of, we've got a little bit of green down here which is great! That means we're up in the map pack and that phone number is kind of getting pushed by Google out to everybody who's scrolling past. So that's awesome! I'm sure you're getting the majority of those calls from Google from these specific locations.

And then, the next tier of course is this kind of single-digit yellows and these would be just below the fold. You're getting a little fraction of the views the traffic the calls, but it would really boost if we can kind of flip these. Especially, this 4 get that up into a 3 so that we really get over the hump and start picking up a lot more calls.

Then, of course, in these 20's that are all across the board on the North here, that's really a tough spot to be in just because you're buried. It's very unlikely that you'll get any calls from these guys just because nobody really scrolls past. Unless, they're looking for a specific business. If they're just looking for general inquiries, they're most likely going to call number 1, 2, and 3.

And if they're a super analytical person who wants that extra 4 or 5 numbers just to compare the data, they'll grab these tier ones. But you're really losing out on a lot of potential with these angry reds. So, this is your Heat Map. Next, I want to take a look at where we can kind of take this with an example Heat Map from one of your competitors.

So, this is you! As you can see, there's a lot more green going on here. But even past the green, I want to really draw your attention to how much yellow there is this company is able to expand that circle and grow. How many single-digit single digits on the list? And that's of course, the first step before we can really blanket this to be green across the board.

This kind of highlights a concept that you can think of as the gradient when you're looking at Heat Map. Essentially, it's as important as knowing how much, how many you're up in the map pack. It's also very important to know how quickly your influence starts to lose and drop off into really no man's land here with these angry red dots.

Here, we've got you know 1, 2, 3 to 4 dots here. And then, if we kind of flip back, you know we've got a cut several layers deep here and as far as the gradient from 1 to 20 it's really a lot shorter all the way across the board. So, it's going to be a little tougher but we can definitely jump in here and start turning these colors closer to green.

You might be wondering where Steady Calls fits in. At Steady Calls, we remind Google who the concrete kings are in a specific area by servicing your Google My Business Listing. You can think of Google as a forgetful spouse that needs consistent reminders to keep what's important on the top of their mind.

I know I'm not the biggest fan of different social events and I need, whether it's a sticky note at the office or texts throughout the day. I need that consistent reminder before I'll actually take action and Google's the same way. What we do at Steady Calls is we go into these specific locations around the web.

Then, post the equivalent of sticky notes for Google to remind them of who is important when it comes to concrete in this specific area. That's how we fit in. I really appreciate the time you took in watching this video. If you'd like to schedule a time to talk with me or someone else from my team, you can click the link that's below this video.

There's also a complimentary Heat Map, so you can jump in and see how your own business is doing. If you don't see your business up here, you can jump to it using this scroll box feature and you can also take a look at how your competition is doing and how you stack up, just to get that big picture view, so you know what you're dealing with in this specific area. Really appreciate the time. This is Eric with Steady Calls!
