This is Eric with Steady Calls.

I wanted to shoot this quick video to make sure that you're maximizing your Google My Business Listing.

First, we're going to take a look at a normal Google search and see how the GMB's show up. Then, we'll take that and see how that same search result can change, depending on where you are around town.

And then, we'll take a look at some of the top competition and how they're showing up around Montgomery. Here is the Google search that I've got right here "Concrete Services Near Montgomery, Alabama." This last piece is because I'm actually out of state in Iowa, so I need that city or state to trigger Google's location specific search.

You should be able to just put in "Near Me" or "Concrete Services." If you do have any ads, they'll show up above this map and these ads get about 5 to 15% of the traffic. The next section is what's called the Map Pack. It's this area here and this gets about 60 to 70% of the traffic and then, these organic search results get 20 to 30% or whatever's left.

And when I talk about traffic, I'm really talking about eyeballs on your phone number, just like foot traffic walking past a sign or a truck at a job site. We'll see that logo number and similarly here on this web search. People are really looking for that phone number, so they can call and find out if it's a good fit or finds out your rates and get a bid.

I want to focus on this map pack area. This is where the Google My Business Listing are and show up. These are the number 1, 2,  and 3 and you can see why they get about 60 to 70% of those eyeballs on the phone number. Because Google really makes it easy for these people who are scrolling past to pick up the phone and call the phone number is right out there in the open.

There's also other metrics like reviews, where people can easily compare these top businesses. If you do want to find the full list, you can hit this "View All" button and it'll expand to number 4, and 5, 6, and so on. You can even go on to page 2, 3, 4, and so forth.

These guys don't get as many of those phone calls because of something called being above the fold. This is a term that goes back to when you have a lot of envelopes and you're just scanning the text that you can read in order to make a decision and that decision.

In the case of snail mail is whether you're going to open up that letter and unfold it and read the entire thing In this case, the decision is whether you're going to, you have a limited amount of information. To decide whether or not, you need to see this " View All" button and scroll down get all these phone numbers.

So that's a little bit about how the GMB's show up. Obviously, being higher up on this list, it gives you a better chance. And being in number 1, 2, or 3 really can make the difference. In getting the big chunk of that 60 to 70% of the calls just because Google's making it easy. Now, with the Heat Map, not sure if you've seen one of these before.

This is a tool that we use to get a bird's eye view of how you're doing around an entire geographical area. To explain this a little further, I'm going to zoom in. You can see that this circle with an 11 is connected to a geographical location. One way to understand this is to think about someone who is in this location doing the exact same Google search that we were just taking a look at.

Google is going to give you a list of Google My Business Listing, a list of phone numbers. What this Heat Map is saying is that on that list Daniel Reese Construction is number 11. If we go over to the next section, though, you know this is a different location.

If someone's in Greek Park and does that same Google search, it can be a word for word. A lot of people don't realize that it can be the exact same search. But Google is going to because of the location, give you a different list of numbers. And on this list of numbers, Daniel Reese is number 19 on the list.

Now, when you zoom out, you can kind of see the big picture of how you're doing. And this, if you don't understand or if you're not aware that Google can vary that significantly, you might do a Google search in some of the areas, where you're doing a lot better and not realize that there's a lot of potentials to grow.

And of course, being higher up on that list results in more phone calls, which results in more bids, going out more jobs coming in, and ultimately more revenue, and ability to grow your business, and support your family. This is a top level view of how you're doing.

Next, I want to show you a GMB from a different company that can kind of give you a vision for where we can take this in the future. You can see that there's a lot more green going on here. Especially, in the Southeast here. Your kind of this company is sort of locking down that map pack in almost a half of the area that I took a look at here. 

Another thing to remember is that 4, 3 to 4 jump is where we're looking at being above the fold or below the fold. But just in general, this the way, this Heat Map is set up. The more green you can get, the more likely you are to get that phone call. That could eventually turn into a job. 

Now, you might be wondering where Steady Calls fits in. We service companies Google My Business Listing so that Google, to remind Google who the concrete kings are in a specific location. You can think of Google as a forgetful spouse who needs constant reminders. I know I'm not the biggest fan of various social events.

I often need multiple reminders whether that's texts or a sticky note at the office before I'll reply or just be prepared and have it in my mind. Google is the same way As Steady Calls, we're going into these different locations and kind of posting sticky notes around. 

Letting Google knows I'm just have getting that steady nudge that various companies. Just to remind them who is important in these areas and that's how we can kind of creep up the list. Flip these 4 to 3 and of course the double digits to single digits and steadily grow.
