Hey, Morris Builders LLC!
This is Eric with Steady Calls.
I wanted to shoot this quick video to make sure that you're maximizing your Google My Business Listing. I've got three sections:
First, I'm going to do a simple Google search that you can follow along with how your business is showing up in a normal Google Listing take a look at some of those stats.
Then, how your business search results show up around town and how they change depending on where in the town you are.
Then, we'll take a look at how your top competition shows up around Montgomery.
This is a pretty standard Google search "Concrete Services Near Montgomery Alabama." If you do have any ads, they'll pop up above this map and these ads get about 5 to 15% of the traffic and you can think of web traffic just like foot traffic. It really boils down to getting those eyes on your phone number is the goal.
Just like someone walking by your truck, seeing the number on the side, or by a storefront. You're looking for people who need those concrete services to see your phone number and connect it and pick up the phone and call. So, 5 to 15% goes to ads. 60 to 70% of those eyes go to this GMB and you can kind of see why this gets the majority.
Google's really making it easy for these people to pick up the phone and call at least for these top 1, 2, and 3 businesses. Here, this is where the GMB's Google My Business Listings show up on a standard Google search, and these organic ranks organic websites get about 20 to 30% of the traffic.
But I want to talk mostly about the big dogs here that get 60 to 70%. These top three are the ones that were in the map pack and you have to hit "View All" to expand the full list. And even when you get to finish scrolling, there's multiple pages here as well. So, these are kind of how you get to the comprehensive list.
But you can see how these number 1, 2, and 3 really get the majority of the calls because they're above the fold. That's a concept that I take from when you're doing a lot of letter writing and reading when you're reading a letter. You need to have a specific amount of text that you read before you decide whether or not to unfold the letter and read the whole thing.
When I talk about being above the fold, I'm really talking about these top three. And then, being below the fold would be number 4 through 10 or, so here. So that's what that's kind of a standard Google search and how these people are finding the Google My Business Listing. Next, I'd like to take a look at this tool called a Heat Map.
I'm not sure if you've seen this before. I just recently got to meet the gentleman who's been developing this over the last two years. It's a tool that we use to get a big picture view of how your Google My Business list changes throughout a surrounding service area. So, to explain this, I'm going to zoom in on one of these dots and when you get closer, you can kind of see that this is connected to a geographical region around Montgomery.
It looks like a Golf Course right here. And if you're at these, the Meadows Apartments and you need to do a search for to get somebody's phone number a concrete contractor, you might do the exact same search that we took a look at. But on that list of GMBs', that Google gives you Morris Builders LLC is number three on that list.
So that's what the new. The number on the inside of the circle means is how close you are counting down 1, 2, 3 on that list. Zooming out again, you can see how if you change up the location. You're also changing that ranking. You could get an entirely new list of numbers or an entirely new order of that same list if you're say doing a search at your residence at Mill Creek, just off Mill Creek.
Do that exact same word-for-word search and you're going to get a different result. So, a lot of people don't realize and they think they can. It's a pretty easy misconception if you are really familiar with doing a Google search and how your Google My Business Listing shows up. You might not realize that it can change by this much variability within even a few miles.
This Heat Map really gets you that bird's eye view of how you're doing. Next, I'd like to take a look at where you could take this grid and Heat Map in the future. This is a second Heat Map using the exact same grids location geography. But on these lists, this company ConCreations is doing very well here.
You can think back to being above the fold. That would be 1, 2, and 3 would are the top GMBs' that are above the fold. Getting the majority of that traffic and you can see that they're almost half of these are in the map pack. Getting at 60 to 70% of the traffic and these ones on the edges are pretty close 5, 6, 7 that's right underneath the fold.
And, of course, we've got some double-digits that are going to be further down the line. And probably, if you think about how likely you are to get the call and job when you're listed number 10 versus number one, it can really be significant. And, of course, you need to get that call before you can send out bids, get jobs back, and ultimately grow your business, and support your employees, and support their families.
You might be wondering where Steady Calls fits in. What we do is we service your Google My Business Listings to remind Google who the concrete kings are in a specific region. You can think of Google as a forgetful spouse. They need consistent reminders whether that's sticky notes or texts for what's important in order to keep it on the top of their mind.
I have a lot. I am not a big fan of social events back when we were doing those. So, I know I need a lot of reminders before I'll RSVP or commit to different events and Google's the same way. They need those reminders of who is the concrete king in specific regions because that's what they're listening to in order to create these rankings.
I really appreciate the time. Please check out your own Heat Map that's linked below this video. You can get in there and play around with it. If you don't see your business, this would be the area where you can click, do a search, or a scroll until you find it. There's also a link to a calendar where you can schedule a call with me or someone else for my team if you're interested in learning more. Thanks so much for your time!
