Hey, Foundation Solutions!

This is Eric with Steady Calls.

I wanted to shoot this quick video to make sure that you are maximizing your Google My Business Listings. To start, we'll take a look at how your business shows up in a normal Google search.

Then, I want to show you how your business results can change depending on where you are around town.

And then, we'll take a look at how your top competition is doing.

To start, I've gone to Google and typed in "Concrete Services Near Montgomery Alabama." This is a locational trigger because I'm actually out of state in Iowa You won't need to do this in order to get these same results. I want to talk a little bit about some of the statistics. If there are any ads, they'll be above the map in this section and these get about 5 to 15% of the traffic.

And when I mention web traffic, you can kind of think of that as just like foot traffic. It's really boils down to eyeballs on your phone number if someone's walking by your truck and sees your number. That has the same effect as if you're scrolling through here and you see the number to call for concrete services.

This next section is called the map pack. It gets about 60 to 70% of those people who are looking for concrete contractors. And below here, the rest of the traffic goes to these organic search results. I want to talk primarily about the map pack and just mention that these are what we call GMB's, Google My Business Listings, and Google really makes it easy for people who are scrolling past to see these top three phone numbers here.

Sometimes, if you're on a mobile device, there'll even be a button where you can click directly and it'll link up with your phone to get these guys on the phone immediately. These number 1, 2, and 3 are above the fold. That's a concept where you have to click in order to get to these below the fold GMB's, just like if you are reading a lot of envelopes.

People will just skim the first section that's above the fold, and then make a decision whether they're going to open up the entire envelope and read all of the information below. So, a lot of people don't get to these last few GMB's on the first page. Just because they are looking for those 1, 2, and 3 that are above the fold.

So that's a normal Google search. Next, I want to use this special tool called a Heat Map to show you how that search can change depending on where you are around Montgomery. To explain this, I'm going to zoom in to one of these locations. Now, this is a specific place. So, you can think of Cantelupe Road, if there's a residence on that road and Sally lives there is looking to put in a patio.

She might go to Google and type in concrete services and Google's going to give her results that we were just taking a look at including a list of phone numbers. And on that list, Olshan Foundation Solutions is number nine on that list. On the other hand, if we go across town here to Green Acres, there could be Joe living in this area who has this exact same request, same need, and you could even do the exact word-for-word Google search.

And on that list of phone numbers, Olshan is number 12. So, you can see how a lot of people don't realize that the single Google search isn't really telling them how they're doing all throughout the entire area. So, this Heat Map is a great way tool, a great tool to really get that bird's eye view of where you're ranking in the map pack.

Number 3, that would be above the fold. Where you're just below the fold? 4, 5, 6, 8, and where you're kind of buried on that second page and it's a lot harder to get people to see your phone number. And, of course, the more people who see your number, the more people can give you a call and request bids, and the more jobs you can receive.

Which, of course, means that you can support your employees and your family and grow your business. Next, I want to take a look at a different Heat Map that kind of gives you a vision for where, what this could look like. This is a second Heat Map that's overlaid on the exact same locations and you can see that there's a lot more green going on here.

We've got 1, 2, and 3, which would be in the map pack. Nearly half the specific grid here is kind of locked out for getting that high percentage of the traffic we kind of. We're talking about 60 to 70%. And then, even on the outskirts of that influence in these yellow dots, we're still talking about being just under the fold and the first couple phone numbers for those the few people who decide to click.

You can see how being a lot closer to these 1's, 2's, and 3's can kind of impact the amount of traffic eyeballs on your phone number that you're getting through these Google searches. Now, you might be wondering where Steady Calls fits in. We service your Google My Business Listing to remind Google who the concrete kings are in a specific area.

You can kind of think of Google as a forgetful spouse. I'm not the most fond of social events back when we were doing those. So, I kind of need a lot of reminders multiple times to before I accept invitations or take specific actions. So that's what we're doing at Steady Calls. We're just reminding Google through whether that's, you know?

I need sticky notes and texts. Google needs different sticky notes in each of these locations to see where Olshan Foundation Solutions. We just let them know "Hey! This guy's are the kings in the area!" And that's how we can kind of move these 4's to 3's and these 11's to 6's. So, yeah, thanks so much for your time!

If you want to check out the Heat Map, I've linked it below. It might not pop up with your business here. So, this would be the search feature or scroll box where you can find your business. Or, if you want to take a look at some of the other competition in your area, you can do that as well. There's also a link to scheduled call with me and my team. I appreciate your time and have a great day!
