Hey, Ready Mix USA!

This is Eric with Steady Calls!

I wanted to shoot this quick video to make sure that you are maximizing your Google My Business Listing.

We're going to take a look at how your business shows up in a normal Google search.

Then, how your business search results change depending on where you are around town.

And then, we'll take a look at how the top competition is showing up around Montgomery.

To get started, I've done a "Concrete Services Near Montgomery Alabama" Google search. If there are ads, they'll show up above this map visual and these get about 5 to 15% of the traffic. This map pack gets 60 to 70% of the traffic and these organic search results different websites get the rest around 20 to 30%.

You can think of traffic as web traffic, just like foot traffic. Kind of boils down to people getting their eyeballs on your phone number. And, of course, they need to see that number before they can call, and they need to call before they can get a bid, and before they can give a job out to you and you-.

You need those calls coming in order to get those jobs and ultimately increase your revenue, grow your business, and provide for your family and employees. This map pack gets about 60 to 70% of those views and those calls and you can kind of see why if you take a look. Google makes it easy.

The phone number for these top businesses is right out there in front. If you're scrolling on a mobile phone often, this is a button where you can click and connect directly. To get on the phone directly with these companies, these are the Google My Business Listings the number 1, 2, and 3.

If you want to see number 4, you have to click this "View All" and there's number 4, 5, 6, and so on. This a lot of people don't expand to see this view. Simply because Google makes it that easy to call directly from the map pack. This is a concept called being above the fold if you think back to having a lot of envelopes, a lot of letters.

Most of my snail mail is spam but I have a limited amount of text that I read before I make a decision whether or not to open up that envelope. And similarly here, you have a limited amount of information before you have to decide whether or not you're going to open that envelope, unfold the entire letter, and read it.

When you're above the fold with number 1, 2, and 3, you're much more likely to get that phone call because people have to if even. If they're scrolling past, they have to see those- get those eyes on the phone number and these guys who are below the fold are kind of banking on the top dogs being not being able to provide for these potential customers.

So that's how Google My Business Listings show up in a normal Google search. If we go to this tool, not sure if you've seen this before. It's called a Heat Map. This is a way to visualize how that search results, essentially, a list of phone numbers shows up around a specific geographical location. So, this is pulling the same data that we were looking at but these are location-specific searches.

To explain, I'm going to zoom in and you can see how this is defining a specific geographical location each circle. So, if you imagine, you are at Joe Hudson Collision Center, doing a Google search with the exact same keywords that I just showed "Concrete Services Near Me." Google knows that you're in this location and it's going to give you a list of phone numbers for concrete contractors.

And on that list, Ready mix USA is number seven and that, of course, means you're not quite in that map pack. You are just below the fold and you kind of need someone who's really looking for a long list of numbers to expand and find you. On the other hand, if we move one location over just a couple miles away, if you are on Rifle Range Road, doing that exact same Google search, Google is going to feed you a list of numbers.

That has Ready Mix USA at number three and, of course, that's in the map pack. You don't need to click. You can just scroll past punch the button and get connected directly to Ready Mix USA. So, just knowing that extra information, you can see that there's a big difference between being below the fold and being above the fold when it comes to getting that phone call.

Also, you can see how this can really change in just a couple miles. Your listing can make a big difference. A lot of people don't realize and they kind of get sucked into that single Google search result. Where, for instance, if you're in the map pack, you might be thinking you're doing very well and you don't see the big picture view of how you're showing up all around town.

Next, I like to take this exact same grid and show you a vision for where you can take this in the future. This is the same locations. So, you can imagine that you're at that same spot. I think I got one down, let me see! I think we were at Rifle Ridge Road. Regardless each one of these circles is kind of showing that ranking on that list of phone numbers.

And, of course, if you're 1, 2, and 3, you're going to be in that map pack and you're much more likely to get that phone call than if you're 4, 5, and 6. You can see how being having much more of this grid. Green can result in your bottom line increasing. So, this is a little vision for where we can take this in the future.

You might be wondering how Steady Calls fits in. We essentially service your Google My Business Listing to remind Google who the concrete kings are in the Montgomery Alabama area. You can think of Google as a forgetful spouse that needs consistent reminders whether that's a sticky note or a text message.

I am not the biggest fan of different social events back when we were having those. So, I need a lot of the times 2, 3, 4 reminders before I'll really get it on my calendar lock-in, and start making plans. Google's the same way. They need that consistent reminder to make sure that your business is on the top of their mind and that can result in moving up these rankings.

Flipping these 4's into 3's and really making that jump to get that large chunk 60 to 70% of those potential customers. At least, calling in, which, of course, is a requirement to getting that bid sent out. I really appreciate the time you've taken watching this video. Please take a look at the Heat Map that's linked below.
