Hey, Tuskegee Ready Mix Inc.!

This is Eric with Steady Calls.

I wanted to shoot this quick video to make sure that you're maximizing your Google My Business opportunity on Google.

First, we're going to take a look at how your business shows up in a normal Google Listing talk about some of the statistics involved.

Then, we'll take a look at how your business search results change depending on where you are around town. And then, we'll see how your top competition is showing up all around Montgomery.

What I've done to start? Here is a simple Google search, so I've done "Concrete Services Near Montgomery Alabama." I added the city and state because I'm actually out of state in Iowa. I need that to trigger these results, but you should just be able to do "Concrete Services Near Me" and get something very similar.

Often, there's ads above the map pack here and these ads get about 5 to 10 to 15% of the traffic. When I talk about traffic, I'm really talking about the eyeballs on your phone number just like foot traffic that sees your truck out and about or if you have a physical location.

You've got signs up you're trying to get people to connect that phone number with a concrete contractor. So that when they're looking for concrete services they pick up the phone and call you. So that's a bit about web traffic. This is the next section that I want to draw your attention to.

We call it the Map Pack and this gets about 60 to 70% of that web traffic. And then below this, we've got organic websites that are ranking on Google. They get the rest, which is about 20 to 30% of that traffic. I want to focus on the GMB though, you'll see that these are the top three Google My Business Listings for this particular search.

And these get, like I said, 60 to 70% of the traffic. One of the big reasons is because Google makes it really easy for people to call. They've got the number right there and there's three options, so you can kind of do a quick scan and just pick one. Whether, it's whether you like the name, it sounds more like what you're looking for, or if you are someone who looks at reviews that might be a way to differentiate.

But these top three get the majority of those calls that are going to Google My Business Listings and that's because they're above the fold. When I talk about being above the folds, you can think about standard snail mail is kind of where the term originated. I guess still get a lot of spam mail.

I have a very limited amount of text that I read before and I have to decide whether or not to act. In my case, my decision is whether to open up the envelope and unfold the letter. When it comes to these people doing a "Concrete Services" search, their decision is whether they want to hit this "View All button" and see all of the Google My Business Listings that are below the fold.

These top three are above the fold and then, you can get more and more and more options all the way to multiple pages, depending on the location. So that's a little bit about a normal Google search. Next, I want to move on to something that's specific and it's a, oops!

This is a great way to get a big picture view of how your Google My Business Listing changes around a specific service area or city. This is called a Heat Map. You can think of this as many many many of those Google searches that we similar to what we just looked at, so I'd explain this further.

I'm going to keep zooming in and you can see how this circle represents a specific area that might have residences or businesses. If you are living near this circle with a five and you do a Google search, what this is telling us is that if you do the same Google search that we did, you're actually going to get a different listing or a different list of those phone numbers.

1, 2, 3, then, below the fold 4, 5, and so on. And in this scenario, Tuskegee Ready Mix is number five on that list of phone numbers. But if we move to a different location, we'll just pick one right here. You can see there's this is a specific location around the city, you know?

If you were in Gateway Park doing that exact same Google search as the guy who is kind of almost out of town. You could do the same word for word search and get a different list of phone numbers. On that list, Tuskegee Ready Mix is number two, so this can be really helpful.

Because if you don't realize that there's this much variation in where you're ranking, you might be doing a Google search where you're very strong number 1, 2. And think that, you are on top and the concrete kings of the area when, you know? If you zoom all the way out, you can kind of see "Hey, there is a lot of room for improvement!"

Being in the 1, 2, and 3 is very good because you're in the top map pack and you're getting the majority of those calls. We really want to if we can flip as many of these yellow kind of 4, 5, and 6 into 1, 2, and 3. And of course, when we're in double digits, that's almost starting to get buried on the second page, which just requires more people to click before they can call.

It's much more profitable to have those calls coming through the top 1, 2, and 3. It's just a more steady way to do it, so this is how you're doing currently. Next, I'd like to show you a different Heat Map that can give you a vision for where you could expand. This is a different company that you can kind of see.

They've got a lot more on that East, and North, or Northwest corner, so the way we can kind of flip from, yeah! You might be wondering how Steady Calls fits in. Well, we really help companies by servicing their Google My Business Listing to remind Google who the concrete kings are in specific areas.

Because there's really, there can only be one, number one per location, so yeah! If you think of Google as a forgetful spouse, that kind of needs constant reminders of what's important. I know I often let kind of social events pass me by. Whether it's texts or sticky notes, I need that kind of constant reminder to " Oh yeah! Hey, this is the day or this is the week when something important is happening!"

Similarly with Google, they are trying to present this list of the most important numbers for their people who are doing the search. And with Steady Calls, we just remind them of who the most important person in this area is through. You can kind of think of it as posting sticky notes around this area, kind of pointing back to your Google My Business Listing.

I appreciate the time. Please check out the link to this Heat Map and you can kind of play around with it. One note there, if you don't see your own company, this would be the search bar where you can type in and flip the map to represent your rankings as of November, 2020. Appreciate the time and please schedule a call with myself or my team through the link below. Thanks, bye!
