Hi Wiregrass Construction Company,
In this short-n-sweet video, you'll learn the level of your Google My Business game faster than you could smooth a driveway with a power screed.
We're as easy to work with as 6in slump. Schedule a call at a time when you're not pouring.
Hi, Wiregrass Construction Company!
This is Eric with Steady Calls.
I wanted to shoot this quick video to make sure that you're maximizing your Google My Business search results.
First, we're going to take a look at how your business shows up in a normal Google search.
Then, we'll see how that search results actually changes depending on where you are around town.
And then, we'll take a look at how the top competition is showing up around Montgomery.
This is a pretty standard Google search. I've done "Concrete Services Near Montgomery Alabama." If you do see any ads, they'll be in this section above the map and these ads get about 5 to 15% of the total traffic. This map pack area gets about 60 to 70% of that traffic and these organic search results.
What people most people think of as a Google search result gets about 20 to 30% or whatever is left. And when I talk about traffic, you can really think of it as eyes on your phone number just like foot traffic. going past your sign or a truck out in the field with a phone number on the side. That's really people you want the people who are looking for concrete services to be able to find you and give you a call.
So that you can ultimately send out a bid that leads to a job and that's how we kind of keep the money coming in, which enables you to grow and support your employees. So, we're really looking for those eyes on the phone number and you can kind of see why this gets about 60 to 70%. Google's really making it easy with the phone number right upfront for these top GMBs'.
This is where the Google My Business Listings show up number 1, 2, and 3, as well as, that phone number. There's some other metrics like reviews and information on hours. So, it enables these people to make the decision to call because maybe someone is really interested in high reviews. So, they're going to call number 2.
Even though it's technically the second-ranked GMB, these three GMBs' are above the fold. This is a concept that comes from reading a lot of letters. You have a specific amount of text on a letter and you have a specific amount of information on this page before you have to make a decision.
In the case of a letter, the decision is to open the envelope and unfold it. And here, when I say being above the fold versus below the fold, this "View All" button is kind of functioning as the folded envelope. And when you click here, you're unfolding it and being able to see the entire list of numbers just like you would be reading the entire envelope that's below the fold.
So, the concept of being above the fold versus below the fold is kind of that hidden information that takes effort and decisions in order to find. So, if you are below the fold, you're really banking on that searcher. Wanting to see and making the decision that they didn't see what they were looking for in these top 1, 2, and 3.
And, of course, if most people are looking for a phone number to call. A lot of people don't even get to those businesses that are below the fold and these top guys get the majority of that 60 to 70%. Next section I want to take a look at what's called a Heat Map. Not sure if you've seen one of these before.
I actually got to meet the gentleman who's been developing this tool over the last two years this past fall. So, I got it fairly recently but what this does is it takes that same data that we were looking at earlier. But it overlays it in a grid-based on location. So, to explain this I'm going to zoom in and you can see that this is a specific location around Montgomery.
There's the Zoo right there and if you were at the Zoo doing a Google search, what this Heat Map tells you is that on that list of numbers that Google is feeding you, Wiregrass Construction is number 9 on that list. On the other hand, if we scroll over to- whoops, I think I over scrolled, there we go.
If you're on the Golf Course, you'd be in a different location doing. You could do the exact same Google search and on that list of phone numbers, Google is going to put Wiregrass Construction Company as number 20 on that list. So, if we zoom out again, you can kind of see I was on the edge.
But I, you can see this big picture view of how you're doing on that ranking and a lot of people don't realize that it can change this drastically in just a couple miles. So, this is a great way to see that change and really get a sense of how you're doing on the ranking. Next, I want to show you a GMB that's an example of where we can kind of take this in the future.
This would be a competing concrete contractor that's doing very well in this same area. We can see 1, 2, and 3 almost half of the square is in that top map pack. And even the weak side, these double-digits are still just below the fold on kind of that first page and though there is that drop-off.
Of course, being more yellow and greenish is a lot better than being orange and red. Just because you're depreciating that the amount of people who make it all the way to number 12 is a lot slimmer than the people who can grab that phone number scrolling past and they don't even have to click on anything.
So that's a kind of big picture view. You might be wondering where Steady Calls fits in. We are a company that services your Google My Business Listings to remind Google who the concrete kings are in a specific area. You can think of Google as a forgetful spouse that needs consistent reminders to keep you or important things on the top of their mind.
I'm not the biggest fan of various social events. So, I often need reminders whether that's a sticky note of the office or text messages throughout the day before I'll RSVP or really take action on what I'm supposed to be doing and Google's the same way. We, at Steady Calls, were kind of doing the equivalent of posting sticky notes in on the web in these areas where Google is looking just to remind them of who is important in this area when it comes to concrete.
And that's how we can kind of move these 4's into 3's and these double-digits into single-digits. I really appreciate the time you took watching this video. Please take a look at the Heat Map, it is linked below the video. If you don't see your own company here, you can search for it in this box.
There's also a link, yeah, so you can also flip through these. All these other contractors that are operating in the same area. The other link that's below the video is a calendar to schedule a call with myself or someone from my team. Definitely check that out if you're interested. Again, this is Eric with Steady Calls.
