I wanted to share this video with you to make sure you're getting the maximum attention via your Google My Business as possible. In this video, I'll show you a few different things.

First, the view of your Google My Business Profile as normal. 

Second, I'll dispel a common myth that your Google My Business Profile shows up the same way around town. 

Finally, I'll show you how the top competitor shows up. 

Let's get started! 

For the first part of this video, I want to show you a few different things on your listing.

If you were to search for the most popular phrase that people are look who are looking to spend money on their concrete service, whether they need a foundation, whether they need a retaining wall or something like that, you'll notice that they'll search "Concrete Services Near Me."

Sometimes you're going to have an ad up here, it depends on the season. But it's the seasons toning down right now as far as in Iowa goes anyway, so they're not running ads. But the ads here will garner anywhere between 5 to15% of the traffic. Note, sometimes you'll have another ad above the first listing here. Again, 5 to 15% of the traffic lumps in with this one, so you got 85% of the traffic's coming down the page.

Yet, 60 to 70% of the traffic, the people are looking to spend money on concrete will stop here because it's the most informational area. They get the phone number. They get the reporting on the rating of the company, as well as, they can go visit the website for more information or find their company location. Then, the vast majority of the rest of traffic will go down the page looking at  for the their company in the organic listings.

A small selection, maybe 3 to 5%, will look down the page. I will click on the "View All" section to go find a concrete company. Often, what I find is that a lot of the companies are buried down here and are hardly ever seen, which means that they're missing out on a lot of the traffic that comes down the page.

Which is a shame because more and more people are turning to Google to find out the companies that they need, which makes it so important to be here. Now that you've seen how your normal Google My Business Listing appears and the know how much traffic comes in each section.  You've got 5 to 15%, then 60 to 70%, and pretty much the difference down here.

Let's dive into the next section. All right Xtreme Land Management, let's dive into it. In the beginning, I promised to look at your Google My Business Listing, that was part one.

Here's part two, we're gonna dive into how your business looks around town.

This is different! It's called a Heat Map and it pulls in data from Google, which gives us location-based information based on where somebody would be searching for "Concrete Services Near Me" (the most common search phrase which we talked about earlier). Inside here, as we dive down into the center of the Cedar Rapids Downtown area, you guys are showing up very well because your list is showing up as a one and a two.

It's green and it is good to go down here, but as we go North that's where things "Start to go South." As we go North that's where things start to go South (if you know what I mean). Inside here, this Heat Map overall that we've got it number coded and we've color-coded it. 

A friend of mine putting this together over the past couple of years, so it finally rolled out here (one good thing out of 2020 right?!) Anyway, inside here, you can see that the green is good. You can think of it like a stoplight.

Green means that we all continue to go where we want to go without delay. Yellow means we're probably going to have some delay. Red practically guarantees that we're going to have some delay and for this map orange is pretty well the same way as red. 

Frankly speaking, it doesn't matter whether you're a 4 or a 13, either way, you're below the fold. What I mean by below the fold is that you're not going to be noticed on Google as Google only shows the first three map listings here, which garner 60 to 70% of the traffic.

Otherwise, people have to click the button down here and as far as, computer services go or computers go, it doesn't make it. People like scrolling over tapping or clicking. I don't really get why, perhaps it's less effort and you have more of a flow when you scroll versus its more of a stop and start when you click or tap.

But if we click the "View All" button, we've got to go find down and find the listing down here, versus it's way easier to just look at the first three listings and do an Amazon Analysis. Okay! Well, this one's a 3.9, this one's a 4.7, this one's a 4.8.

I'm going with the highest rated one because that's what we all do on amazon, right? We look down at the listing. We look down at the ratings and boom. We're in, then we click on that one and then, we go to find it right. Then, it gives me the address and the phone number. Bam bam! Done, right? That's how that works!

In the third part of this video, I'll show you where what things could look like.

Alright, let's dive into that! Here's one of the more dominant players on the South side. So, if you look at they've got all the green pretty much of the entire half. Almost on the entire half of the South side of Cedar Rapids.

This is how to dominate that area, so they're going to get a lot of calls from Norway, Wildford, Fairfax, Atkins, Covington, and even up in Palo (that's where they're gonna get a lot of the calls from). Basically, they're putting their name in the hat for having a solid chance of getting the business in those locations around Des Moines. They actually appear over here on the South side of town.

So that would be what we could work to get you to. That's what the dominating company looks like, which happens to be where my company Steady Calls comes in. Think of Google here like your forgetful sister or wife to stay at the top of their mind. You gotta continually remind them of what you want them to do. You got to leave sticky notes all over the place to keep their attention long enough to get the task done.
